On 7 August, 2015, a National Workshop within the framework of Climate Forum East II Project took place at the Armenian Red Cross Society HQ, where Memorandum of Understanding among Armenian Climate Forum members has been signed. Overall, 16 NGOs will continue their activities within the framework of the Armenian Climate Forum, established in 2013, based on the issues related to global developments in Climate Change, as well as on the necessity of cooperation in Climate Change Adaptation through ensuring sustainable development in the communities.
During the workshop, tender on three grants intended within the framework of “Climate Forum East II” Project for “Armenian Climate Forum” members was announced. These include “Development of the Local Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan”, “Analysis of Current National Policies in Climate Change and Health” and “Preparation of materials for National Policy Dialogue, Public Awareness Raising and Education”. All members of the “Armenian Climate Forum” has been informed and expressed their willingness to take part in tenders.
“Climate Forum East II” Project implemented by the Armenian Red Cross Society is financed by the European Union. Additional funding is provided by Austrian Development Agency and the Austrian Red Cross Society. The objective of the Project aims at increasing capacity of six existing national CSO Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) networks and individual CSO network members to contribute to national and local policy making process, public awareness raising, and education on Climate Change and environmental governance in the Eastern Partnership Region.
The Project is implemented in six Eastern Partnership countries. The implementation period of the Project is from 1st January 2015 till 30th June 2017.
