On 2 December, a workshop for the students of journalism faculties titled “Red Cross activites and skills for journalists working in extreme conditions”. The experts invited were Mediamax Chief Editor Davit Alaverdyan and Media Expert Samvel Martirosyan.
Zara Amatuni, ICRC Head of Communication Programs and Narine Karapetyan, ARCS Dissemination Responsible presented the history of Red Cross International Movement and its Fundamental Principles, the International Committee of Red Cross and Armenian Red Cross Society activites in Armenia, as well as the difference of those activities’ directions and mandates.
At the second part, the invited experts presented to the participants the specifics and ethics of working in borderline and fighting zones, skills of covering emergency situations (natural disasters, demonstrations, terrorism attack, hostage raking, etc..), as well as the rules of covering socially vulnerable groups’ issues.
